Week 9 at a Glance

Recapping Week 8 of Essentials.  We looked at the compound structure, interrogative purpose, S-Vt-DO pattern sentences with EEL tasks 1-4 on the analytical task sheet.  Loading the grammar, we delved into the prepositional phrase and chart J.  In writing, we were introduced to the Introductory Sentence with a Final Clincher for the short essay (1-3 paragraphs).

Here is a quick preview of Week 9:  We will be looking at the compound structure, declarative  purpose, S-Vl-PN pattern sentences with EEL tasks 1-4.  Loading the grammar, we will focus on linking verbs and chart K while reviewing charts C & D (Verbs & Principal Parts of Verbs).  In writing, we will continue practicing taking notes from interesting facts/details but from a longer source text.  I will collect the Mayflower papers and the Colonial papers for our bound end-of-the-year writing book.

I will also take time to update our chart memorization puzzle…… so if your child/children have memorized any of the charts to your satisfaction, I will take a look at the work and mark off the chart puzzle piece.

Have a wonderful week!
