Week 8 at a Glance

Recapping Week 7 of Essentials.  We looked at the compound structure, imperative purpose and Noun of Direct Address, S-Vt-DO pattern sentences with EEL tasks 1-4.  Loading the grammar, we were introduced to adverbs and chart I.  In writing, we learned the structure for the short essay (1-3 paragraphs) and how to take notes from facts and interesting details, rather than sentences.  We also learned how to make a clincher from the topic sentence.

Here is a quick preview of Week 8:  We will be looking at the compound structure, interrogative purpose, S-Vt-DO pattern sentences with EEL tasks 1-4.  Loading the grammar, we will focus on prepositions and chart J while reviewing charts E, G, I  (Nouns, 112 Model Sentences for the Compound Structure, & Adverbs).  In writing, we will go over some "tricky words" and discuss any questions regarding the writing assignment.  The majority of our writing class will be designated for presenting our Mayflower papers.

Have a wonderful week!
